Green Schools 01/12/22
Divine Word school is proud to be a Green School. We received our 7th Green Flag in Oct 2021. This 7th flag was for Global Citizenship – Energy . We have worked hard to achieve these awards over the last few years, by:
| Recycling batteries, mobile phones and ink cartridges Using hand-towels instead of paper towels to dry our hands Turning off lights and electrical appliances when not needed Not wasting water Hippo bags in all toilet cisterns Using reusable lunch and drink containers |
Taking part in recycling clothes – Fill the Van Day Keeping our school litter free Taking part in a walk and cycle to school programme WOW, COW Saving paper when photocopying Running a textbook loan scheme Text a Parent initiative |
Our green School Committee organises annual Recycling competitions and events. We are always delighted to welcome suggestions for how to make our school ‘greener’ and look forward to hearing yours!
