Divine Word is an active participant in the "School Inclusion Model (SIM) – In-School Therapy Project". An NCSE Speech and Language Therapist and Occupational Therapist work in partnership with us, to build teacher and school capacity across the continuum of support framework
Céilí Mór sa Chlós
Today we celebrated Lá Glas in our school. Bhíomar ag damsha, ag canadh agus ag éisteacht le ceol. Bhí an-spórt againn. Everyone was wearning green. The sun shone. Ms Larkin organised three Céilís out in the basketball court. The older classes were partnered up with the younger classes and have been practising the Staicín Eorna and Baillaí Luimnigh for weeks. Many students danced and played musical instruments. Ms Larkin danced. Classes sang. See the Gallery for more pictures.

As Principal of Divine Word National School, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our school website. It is a privilege for me to work with a staff that is hardworking and caring, and whose commitment underpins the school’s core ethos. In partnership with the parents, we endeavour to nurture the children’s academic, social, emotional and spiritual development.
There is a vibrant school community that provides a well-rounded and comprehensive programme of activities. All the children here are encouraged to participate and achieve to the best of their abilities and interests.

Divine Word National School
The Divine Word National School serves the parish of Marley Grange and its surrounding areas. It is a mainstream, co-educational school catering for all pupils aged 4-12 (approximately).
The school fosters the overall development of the child in a caring and supportive environment and with the help of a well qualified and enthusiastic teaching staff ensures that pupils receive a unique degree of individual attention.
It is situated at the foothills of the Dublin Mountains between Marlay Park and the famous St Enda’s Park and is close to many recreational and sporting clubs.

Green Schools
Divine Word school is proud to be a Green School. We received our 7th Green Flag in October 2021. This 7th flag was for Global Citizenship – Energy . We have worked hard to achieve these awards over the last few years.

Discover Primary Science & Maths Award
To date, we have received six ‘Discover Primary Science and Maths Awards’ .
We compiled a folder of all the science work that has been undertaken by the children in the school throughout the year.
All the strands of the Science curriculum were represented, as well as visitors to the school and visits the children made to some of the Discover primary science centres. We had fun while we learned. We look forward to lots more science activities in the future. Sincere thanks to all the teachers and parents who support the children each year.
